CenterLine
Forum
Progress
for City Heights
Wednesday,
August 29, 2007, City Heights held a forum about the I-15
CenterLine Rapid Transit which convened nearly 100 residents,
elected officials and community members of City Heights.
The residents voiced their need for a Rapid Transit System
that would connect City Heights throughout the San Diego
Region. A commitment covenant was signed by all who attended
agreeing that transportation officials needed to work with
a Community Oversight Committee to achieve key objectives
in order to complete required mitigations for the SR-15
Freeway. These objectives include the following: to provide
quality rapid transit to get to jobs, to protect the health
of the children and families of City Heights and to promote
economic development at the transit plazas.
City
Heights Community Development Corporation (CHCDC) would
like to thank residents of City Heights for their continued
dedication to this project, to the community-based organizations
for their support and direction and also to the public officials
for their encouragement toward a positive outcome for City
Heights rapid transit.
