Rally
and informational gathering for residents
Saturday,
June 2, 2007, City Heights held a rally and informational
gathering which successfully raised the awareness of issues
surrounding the CenterLine Transit System. The residents of
City Heights learned how they could foster support concerning
the need for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) throughout the San Diego
Region. The event was held at City Heights Park during the
15th annual International Village Celebration.
The
CenterLine is a plan to build a state-of-the-art bus rapid
transit system in the center of the 15 freeway that would
get Mid City residents to downtown in 10 minutes and to other
regional jobs centers quickly. The transit system would also
provide an increased access into this internationally diverse
tourist attraction from other San Diego communities and beyond.
City
Heights Community Development Corporation (CHCDC) would like
to thank the residents of City Heights for their dedication
to this project, to the media for assisting us in getting
the message out to the community, and to our elected officials
who continue to support us.

the Centerline!
